Rectal Thermometer-this simple tool can help detect an infection coming in if your puppy begins with high temp(fever)
In-door Thermometer- this will help you assure puppies are in adequate temp.(80-85f for new born puppies)
Bedding-you can use several things but make sure the puppies are not on a hard surface, add Cushing to their bedding to help prevent puppies forming flat chest.
Heat pad- the puppies should have the option to lay on top of a heat pad, should it get chilly throughout the day or cold nights. Most important during the first week.
Suction bulb- If you have a hungry pup, they tend to pull more milk than they can swallow. This will help clean puppy up from any milk coming from the nose and clear airways.
Disinfectant-look for something that is not alcohol based as this can cause a burning sensation on c-section wound. Antiseptic works great to disinfect mamas boobies before puppies eat, to prevent any infection.
Humid towels-this can help if mama is not doing a great job at rearing puppies.
Training pee pads-these come in handy to keep things neat, come cleaning time, you’ll only have to swap the pad🙂 also great to start potty training at 3-4 weeks
